The government has announced that schools will close for the vast majority of students from Friday 20th March for the foreseeable future. We have been working closely with all of our schools to support them in planning for this eventuality and each school will communicate further details to you as soon as possible about how students can access work whilst schools are closed.

Our teachers are committed to providing high quality, challenging work which will enable students to continue their learning in these difficult circumstances. As parents and carers, your support with this work is essential to ensure that on their return, your children can resume their school based learning and continue to make excellent progress.

We also appreciate that the news about exams being cancelled will have come as a shock to you, as it did to us. We are fully aware that this is a distressing and worrying time for our exam year students and we want them and you to know we will do all we can within the limits of whatever guidance we receive, to ensure they get the results and the emotional support they deserve.

With regard to the government’s intention that schools will open for the children of Key Workers and vulnerable students, please allow us time to receive further details on how this will work and put the necessary preparations in place. However, we do envisage that all of our school sites will remain open where possible. This will also have to take into account our staff who are already self-isolating or have their own children at home due to school or nursery closures.

For further details please refer to each school’s website.

Thank you for your patience and support in these challenging circumstances and please be assured we will do all we can to support our schools and support them through these difficult and worrying times.
